Rebecca finishes 2nd at the US 5km Championships

Rebecca continued her strong season at the US 5km Championships with a runner-up finish. Rebecca powered over the last hill and down the finishing straight to pull away from Jen Rhines (15:31) and Sara Hall (15:33) to finish 2nd and establish a new personal best, 15:30. Amy Yoder-Begley won the race in 15:27. In coordination with USATF, Flotrack provided in-depth coverage of the championships. The US 5km Championships is held in conjunction with the CVS Caremark Downtown 5k in Providence, RI. Rebecca’s second place finish earned her 12 points in the USA Running Circuit and moved her up to seventh in the standings.

Rebecca finished finished 6th overall and was the 4th American. She earned 7 points in the USA Running Circuit standings for her efforts.

USA Women’s 10km Championship

Rebecca is in Boston getting ready to run the US 10k Championships which is run in conjunction with the Tufts Health Plan 10k for Women. The race goes off at noon today, so make sure you cheer for her around then.
